Why KROK?

This section is a guideline for International Students willing to study at «KROK» University. Founded in 1992 «KROK» University is the best private university in Ukraine (since 2012 according to Consolidated ranking of Ukrainian universities, TOP-200 Ukraine (2015 – 2018, 2020), FOCUS TOP-50 — the estimates of the employers (2017). In 2003, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine accredited the University at the IV (highest) level. «KROK» University has wide range of facilities: dormitory, canteen, computer labs and educational and scientific library, as well as medical service and security for the convenient staying of all the students, moreover, the distinguishing feature of KROK is its’ dynamic student’s life. Accommodation

The dormitory of «KROK» University is provided for living for the period of instruction of nonresident students, applicants, PhD and Doctoral students, as well as orphans and children deprived of parental care, in case of not having a different place of accommodation. Foreign students studying at the University are placed in the hall of residence in accordance with general practices, unless the other is not provided by agreements or other normative legal acts.

The dormitory is situated near the University in the park area at 6A Parkova-Syretska Street. It is situated in the area with a well-developed infrastructure. There are 3 metro stations: «Beresteiska», «Shuliavska», «Dorohozhychi» in a 15 minute walk from it and besides, there is convenient transport interchange of public transport there.

Leaving conditions:

  • The dormitory is of the corridor type: there are kitchens, toilets, washrooms on the floor. Kitchens are equipped with gas stoves.
  • The rooms are for 4 people. There are 2 bunk beds, wardrobes, tables and chairs.
  • Students have a spacious reading room. There is a grocery shop near the dormitory.
  • There is a 24-hour security, a check-in system (turnstile) in the dormitory, besides, there is an installed CCTV around the perimeter of the dormitory.
  • The dormitory provides residents with sleeping equipment (a pillow, а blanket, a linen set, which is changed twice a month).
  • What is more, for additional paid services, students get washing machines and high-speed unlimited internet.

There is its own student government in the dormitory of the University. It is presented by the Student Council of the dormitory. It is a link between the administration of the campus and the Student Council. It compiles representatives of each floor of the hall of residence, which are selected at the elections of the Dormitory Council.

The main task of the Student Council of the dormitory is to protect the main life rights and interests of student youth living in the dormitory, through constant interaction and cooperation between students and the administration of the campus and the University.

Students who are settled in the dormitory should know and strictly stick to the «Provision on student dormitory», «Rules of the internal order in the dormitory» and the terms of the agreement on provision of student accommodation services in the dormitory.

Drinking of alcoholic beverages, smoking, using drugs etc. are strictly forbidden within the residential

dormitory.

Fee for International Students is around 60 USD per month.

Canteen

Canteen

Students and staff are provided with meal services at the University cafeteria that can hold up to 120 visitors and offers various meals from soups and salads to snacks and beverages. Taking into account the academic schedule shifts the cafeteria is open from 9 AM till 6 PM meeting students’ and faculty members’ needs in all-day food service.

GYM

Besides the above mentioned the University provides students with all the necessary facilities for individual physical training in 3 gyms equipped with modern training machines, sports equipment and playgrounds. It offers students a wide variety of healthy activities at all ability levels as well as opens opportunities for active competition, fitness conditioning, skill building, stress release, leadership development and peer socialization; provides students, faculty, and staff with programs that offer competitive, non-competitive, health promoting, and physical activity conducive to their personal development and overall wellness within safe facilities and fun-filled environments.

Computer Facilities and Library

Computer Facilities and Library

The University offers a wide range of computer and Internet facilities. All students and staff have free access to Internet in 12 computer labs equipped with up-to-date software and in the library. The overall amount of computers is about 500 including those installed in the library reading room. This amount of personal computer stations provides students with assistance in research work, writing term papers, thesis etc. The University IT Centre provides technical support and maintenance services connected with computer or any kinds of equipment.

Students majoring in any subject can find programs that will benefit them and be helpful in their studying. Specific software is designed to fulfill all the needs of students majoring in Law, Economics, International Relations, Marketing, Finance, Banking and others. There are also computerized labs for conducting social and marketing research.

Professional Development

Career Development Center (CDC) is a department of «KROK» University which helps students to prepare themselves for future careers and facilitates their employment.

CDC mission - we help young professionals to find a decent job and for companies – to find promising and talented employees.

Fields of CDC activity:

  1. Career guidance – the help in the determining of the range of professions to which skills, interests and abilities of young people are most relevant.
  2. Informal learning – development of professional competencies of students, their skills, time management, goal-setting and business communication needed for successful employment and probation.
  3. Internship – cooperation with companies on conduction of practices and internships of students in their major field.
  4. Employment of Students and Alumni of the University for temporary and permanent employment.

Cultural Centre

Cultural Centre is a platform for the development of talented and creative students and «KROK» staff.

It is a place where creative ideas that are then embodied in corporate and traditional festivals are created (International Students' Day, Halloween, Valentine's Day, University Birthday, March 8, May 9, etc.).

The centre also conducts performances for children of employees, students and partner schools, as well as for children with special needs.

As part of the Cultural Centre there are three successful art studio: Dance Theatre «KROK» Theater studio «Crocodile», vocal studio «KROK».

All interested persons can pass through the casting to art studios and outside the educational process attend rehearsals and participate in numerous concerts and other special events.

Student Council

Student Council

Student Government is an important part of society development, which promotes the education of young managers and organizers. Student Council of «KROK» University influences the change in living conditions in the hostel, helps in the creative and scientific activities, is involved in matters of international exchange, participates in the academic councils, expresses the students’ opinion, which the administration takes into account.

Student Council actively implements the projects for University students. Among them are: «KROK gathers friends», «Warning – Here is the personality!», «KROK Mister and Miss» and so on. Moreover KROK activists carry out the operational activity: draw up international student cards «ISIC», conduct developmental business game «WECANOMY» and assist on 15% return of tuition fees. Charitable Community also operates within the activity of Student Council.

Combining professional and personal development is possible through the participation in projects or in the activity of project group «SPG».

«SPG» - is a responsible, creative and focused team that creates and implements educational, social, corporate and PR-projects in order to create high-quality professional environment.

University students, who are interested in developing of media skills, are able to join the media group «KMG production» of «КRОК» University. Members of the media group acquire knowledge in shooting, editing, photographing, and then implement them in practice by creating their own media projects.

For qualitative implementation of media projects «КRОК» University has provided the group with technical equipment and its own equipped room.

Also all the students can participate in Charitable Community in order to help Tsiuriupinsk orphanage or those, who are interested in environmental protection can join Environmental Club «LOTUS».

At «KROK» University there are medical offices № 203 and № 204, ext. tel. 150

Working Hours: Monday - Saturday from 9:00 to 19:00, Sunday - from 9:00 to 16:00.

Medical Services

  • provision of first aid and emergency care;
  • advices on health issues;
  • referrals for counseling and preventive medical examination at the clinic.

Annual medical examination of students

According to the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of 05.08.1994 № 532 full-time students are required to undergo an annual preventive medical examination by the place of residence (registration).

Order of the preventive medical examinations at «KROK» University:

  • students pass annual preventive medical examination at the clinic by the place of registration (free of charge);
  • annual preventive medical examination can be organized and conducted for students (upon their request and at their own expense) in the clinic, with which an agreement is concluded (70 Shcherbakova St);
  • day and time of preventive medical examination is indicated by the doctor of the University after consultation with chief physician of clinics and deans of relevant faculties.
