The members of the Academic Board, teachers and staff of the University gathered in the reading room of the Academic Library. The meeting was started by Rector, Professor Sergii Laptiev, introducing the honorary guest.
Then Professor – Taras Finikov, one of the founders of the University, President of International Foundation for Educational Policy Research) delivered a speech. He toldall those attendants about the main milestones of Jerzy Malec's life. In addition, Taras said that Jerzy Malec defended his doctoral dissertation "The Polish Administrative Thought of the XVIII Century" in 1987, for which the Council of the Faculty of Law and Administration of The Jagiellonian University conferred the title of D.J.S. of the history of Polish law (Doctor Habilitatus) to him. In 1990-1993 Professor Jerzy Malec received three scholarships from the Max Planck Society and trained in Germany. In 1994-2000 he was a member of the District Bar Council in Krakow. Since 2000 he has been working at Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski Krakow University .In 2001-2002 he was a member of the Senate of Jagiellonian University.
The scientific work of Professor Jerzy Malec includes more than 100 published works, including 13 books. Moreover, professor owns a number of well-known textbooks on the history of administration. It‘s to be noted that these textbooks are well-known and popular on a national scale and they are used in the educational process of both public and private higher educational institutions.
The professor Jerzy Malec, as the Rector, provided the dynamic development of the higher education institution, which has been already chaired by him for thirteen years. Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski Krakow University is one of the leading private academic institutions in Poland.
In 2004, he was awarded for his high achievements in the country by the President of the Polish Republic with the Kavaler Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta , and in 2011 - with the Commander Cross of this Order. In 2015, Professor Jerzy Malec received the honorary medal at Krakow Pedagogical University of Commission of Public Education.
The founders and the Academic Board of «KROK» University guiding by ancient academic traditions and endeavoring to receive the highest honor of those personalities who have been most involved in the development of science, art, education and international cooperation at their meeting on December 21, 2017, conferred professor in ordinary, Doctor Habilitatus , Rector of Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski Krakow University the Honorary Doctor’s Degree for his contributions to the development of Polish constitutional law, the promotion of cooperation between Polish and Ukrainian academic communities, participation in higher education reforms in the Republic of Poland in the context of the Bologna Process and the promotion of the development of private educational institutions in the Republic of Poland.
The Rector of «KROK» University, Sergii Laptiev, handed a document confirming this honorary degree to Jerzy Malec, greeted him and wished him further success and prosperity.
