Project Steering Committee Meeting at University of Foggia (2-3 September)

2-6 September 2023 Project Steering Committee Meeting and Sudy Visit of EU Erasmus+ project INTERADIS International Students Adaptation and Integration (619451-EPP-1-2020-1-NL-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP) was hosted by University of Foggia, Italy.

Study Visit at University of Foggia

28 August- 1 September, 2023, Study visit was conducted as part of the EU Erasmus+ project CLIMAN / "Synergy of educational, scientific, management and industrial components for climate management and climate change prevention" at University of Foggia, Italy.

Haliç University, Istanbul, Turkey, announced the results of applications for Call for Erasmus+ scholarships for staff mobility. Selection was conducted within the framework of 2022 project of the Erasmus+ Programme and partner countries (KA171) Higher Education Student Mobility within the quota allocated to Haliç University by Turkish National Agency.

The nominated and waiting lists were created by accepting the applicants with the highest scores from related departments in the project. Nominated staff are the staff who will be supported with Erasmus+ KA171 grant, waiting staff are who meet the minimum requirements but are not eligible for a grant. Waiting staff will be able to benefit from Erasmus+ without a grant upon request.

On July 25, 2023, a cluster event on digitalisation "Eurointegration: Ensuring Sustainable Development of Higher Education and Society in Ukraine."

The aim of the event was to disseminate leading experience and monitor the results of projects in the field of Higher Education Capacity Building, ensuring synergy among projects operating within a specific cluster, and promoting thematic priorities of the EU Erasmus+ Program, particularly quality, digitization, and inclusion.

Approximately 70 representatives from projects under the EU Erasmus+ Program's Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) strand, higher education institutions, and research institutions participated in the webinar.

Andrii Lotariev, the director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of International Education and Galina Bohachenko, the head of projects and programs in the field of material (non-material) production at KROK University, presented the project activities of KROK University, the national coordinator of the project "Mediation: Training and Society Transformation" (599010-EPP-1-2018-1-NL-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP-MEDIATS-Mediation: training and society transformation). They showcased the methods for promoting mediation values in Ukrainian society and introduced the partner institutions to the master's program in mediation at three Ukrainian higher education institutions.

On July 11, 2023, the recognition experts of ENIC Ukraine Center organized an online seminar «Recognition of foreign educational qualifications in Ukraine: validation and preparation of documents for recognition».

The event was attended by 224 specialists from 111 educational institutions. The seminar was attended by Andrii Lotariev, Director of Educational and Scientific Institute of International Education, and Yelyzaveta Halenzovska, Project Manager of Educational and Scientific Institute of International Education.

The seminar was organized with the financial support of the Council of Europe within the framework of the UaReNext project «Implementation of the Lisbon Recognition Convention - Support to ENIC Centers».

In their speeches, ENIC Ukraine experts spoke about the possibilities of conducting the validation procedure, reviewed in detail the requirements for the preparation of a package of documents, familiarized with the stages of the recognition procedure and answered topical questions on the topic of the event.

While working in separate workshop groups, the seminar participants had the opportunity to communicate with ENIC Ukraine specialists, took an active part in discussing practical cases of document verification, verification of the status of an educational institution and determination of the rights granted by an educational document.

On July 05, 2023, the first graduation of students majoring in Journalism took place within international project on dual education «Integration of Dual Higher Education in Moldova and Ukraine / COOPERA».

Within the frameworks of the project, the students gained practical skills in Journalism, worked directly in the production environment, and saw the daily work of media professionals from the inside. We are confident that they, having a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and a Certificate of completion of such a practice-oriented program, are ready to contribute to the professional journalistic environment with their own creative media projects.

On June 28 and July 4, 2023, the defense of Bachelor Theses and Bachelor Exam of students of the Ukrainian-Austrian program took place.

On June 23, 2023, the monitoring webinar «Governance, management and functioning of higher education institutions and the higher education system based on quality assurance, digitalization and inclusion» was held, organized by the National Erasmus+Office in Ukraine. The event gathered participants of the CBHE projects of the EU Erasmus+ Program, representatives of higher education institutions and scientific institutions.

The main goal of the webinar was to deepen the understanding of the impact of Erasmus+ on the development of management in higher education in the context of quality assurance, digitalization and inclusion; as well as improving the provision of synergy between Erasmus+ projects in the management cluster.

Welcome words were given by Oleh SHAROV, the Director General of the Directorate of Higher Education and Adult Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (Director General of the Directorate of Professional Pre-Higher and Higher Education), representative of the Representation of the European Union in Ukraine, as well as Svitlana SHYTIKOVA, Coordinator, Director of the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine.

Andrii Lotariev, Director of Educational and Scientific Institute of International Education of «KROK» University, presented the results of COOPERA («Integration of dual higher education in Moldova and Ukraine) and INTERADIS («International Students Adaptation and Integration») projects, where «KROK» University acts as the National Coordinator.

Kyiv National University of Economics named after Vadym Hetman presented the results of the project «Open Practices, Transparency and Integrity for Modern Higher Education».

The experience in conducting the project «Open Practices, Transparency and Integrity for Modern Higher Education» was shared by representatives of Lviv Polytechnic National University, and the Ivan Franko Lviv National University presented the results of «Teacher Certification Centers: Innovative Approaches to Teaching Excellence» project.

We sincerely thank the organizer of the webinar, the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine, for holding such an interesting and useful event, sound advice and recommendations, as well as all participants for their activity!

On 29 May - 02 June 2023, Training and Project Steering Committee Meeting of the EU Erasmus+ project CLIMAN/ «Synergy of educational, scientific, management and industrial components for climate management and climate change prevention" was organized at Netherlands Business Academy.

«KROK» University was represented by Nataliia Litvin, First Vice -Rector, Andrii Lotariev, Director of Educational and Scientific Institute of International Education of «KROK» University, Galina Bogachenko, Director of International Project Office of Educational and Scientific Institute of International Education of «KROK» University, Liudmyla Sumbaieva, Director of Professional College of «KROK» University, Anna Chernovska, EcoLotos project activist, Valentyna Mandybura, teacher at Professional College of «KROK» University, took an active part at both activities.

During the training the workshops combining theory and practical assignments on the following topics were organized:

• Political basis and regulations in the EU (the introduction of SDG’s and its consequences, Treaty of Paris, Law on climate, climate treaty, Linear economy and circular economy,
• CO2 (Introduction of CO2 production ladder; Introduction to the company «COA» and sustainability strategy; Sustainability and Business Control).
• CSRD (Corporatie Sustainability Reporting Directive, Obligations 2025 by EU, Consequences for corporate world, Life cycle assessment, Case COA
• Integration of sustainability topic in business and tourism education, etc.

Visit to company MeesPierson investments (ABN) was organized, during it the aspects of consequences to investors behaviour on the stock markets, introduction to international investors behaviour, influence of SDG’s were discussed.

During the management sessions the partners discussed the state of implementation of the project, Progress report, challenges and plans for the nearest future, submission for the extension of the project, adding of the new partner, difficulties with travels for Ukrainian partners, organizational and content aspects of upcoming project meetings.
